Thanks, Jason. Actually, I have a collection of several ID cards that would be of (mild) interest, including Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. I just didn't bother to photograph them.

But, as you said, the World Trade Center ID bears a certain significance, not the least of which is because they only issued ID's for the building after the first bombing in 1993. Before then, you only had an ID for the company you worked for within the building.

An excellent assortment of random mementos, Brian -- I, of course, was excited by the Star Wars cards (I'm sure it won't surprise you to learn I have a complete set of those), but also, weirdly enough, by the casino cups. I realized the last time I was in Wendover (the nearest Nevada bordertown that Salt Lakers escape to for their sinful fun) that coins had gone away, but I hadn't thought about the cups. I still have a couple of those around myself. I probably ought to stash them in the archive for posterity.

The WTC ID card is something special. I'd never let go of that one, if I were you.

@Jeff - I'm sure I sent away for it with cereal boxtops or the like. And yes, it's probably worth something to somebody. For now, though, it's safely stored away in my crawlspace.

@Janet - another entry in the "world has changed" file. I probably type the equivalent of a short novella each day now, but I don't remember the last time I wrote something longer than ten words in longhand. I'm sure our kids will have a similar experience growing up. Handwriting has become an anachronism...

My first computer was a 512E. It was so much cooler than everyone else's Macs because it had two drives (no swapping out!) and could read double-sided discs. Of course, it was still possible then to use such a thing to make money typing papers for my fellow college students who had never managed to acquire any keyboarding skills (at $1/page, it was a good gig then for a fast typist). Now they learn qwerty before they learn cursive (and more successfully).

I'm guessing some of that stuff is worth a hell of a lot more than you'd think. Do you remember where the Batman and Robin button came from?
