I was mainly being tongue-in-cheek, but there is some logic to it: the iPod is the near-monopoly in that space. Other (sometimes better) products are struggling or failing because of Metcalfe's law.
The only thing that will take down iPod is something that launches with enough buzz and enough capital to "take the world by storm." I'm not saying Microsoft will do that, but they are one of the few that can...

Yeah, because if there's one thing that's sure to succeed in the marketplace, it's asking the customer to bend over and say, "Thank you for your DRM, sir, may I have another?"
