Things Ain’t Lookin’ Good for McCain/Palin

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

From our recent trick-or-treating trip:

I’m not sure if these people are enthusiastic about both McCain/Palin and Halloween, or if they’re Obama supporters sending a subtle message. Either way, I think the picture will prove apropos by this evening…

Get Your T-Shirts…

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Back in July, Rizzo, proprietor of RizzoTees, posted a comment on a post I did about funny T-shirts. In the comment, he offered to give me and my readers a discount if I would link to his site, which I did (via the comment).

True to his word, Rizzo has responded with a coupon code. Here is what he said:

I posted on your blog and offered to send you a coupon code to my new t-shirt website, RizzoTees.com, once it was up and running. My site went live yesterday! Have a look at http://www.RizzoTees.com .

As promised, if you

Things you see while…Walking past Radio City Music Hall

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The first Christmas wreathes and garlands are hanging over the main entrance to Radio City this morning (for the record, it’s October 20th – I bought my kids Halloween costumes yesterday). Still no sign of nativity scene camels walking around Rockefeller Center or giant trumpet players encased in enamel-painted carbonite, but it’s a start.

(NOTE: please record this as incident #3,572 when I wish my cell phone had a digital camera in it. Thank you…)

Getting Along with Everybody

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Well, some of my regular readers (one in particular) will find this fascinating. It seems I’m a left-leaning moderate:

Moderate on political map

Your views call for roughly same amount of goverment and liberty that we have today, for both personal and economic issues.

It appears that you are relatively happy with the status quo. However, this could be wrong if you averaged out to the center by opting for a an equal mix of big and small government positions, vs. opting for mostly moderate positions.

Approximately 6% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area, 36% for all within the centrist circle.

Now, to be fair, I think this quiz paints with very broad brushes, and had it been weighed more heavily on fiscal matters and/or foreign policy, my yellow dot would likely have moved to the right a bit. Nonetheless, at least someone out there thinks I’m a left-leaning & happy with the status quo…

A Different Kind of Bailout

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Ladies & Gentleman, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber:

Andrew Lloyd Webber is offering free theatre tickets to bankers who have lost their jobs in the current financial meltdown.

Between now and October 15th, bank employees who visit the box offices of The Sound of Music and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be able to claim two free tickets for one of the shows on production of a P45 issued after September 1st, 2008.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “Both The Sound of Music and Joseph are feel good shows and I thought that free tickets might offer some respite, albeit for a couple of hours, for some of those people who have sadly lost their jobs in the current economic upheaval. All you have to do is present your P45 as proof at the box office and two free tickets are yours.”

The offer is subject to availability and terms and conditions apply.

That’s seventeen different kinds of awesome…
